The NINE Dance Academy offers a wide range of dance styles, including ballet, hip-hop, contemporary, ballroom, acro, and more. Our diverse classes cater to dancers of all interests.
Our instructors are highly experienced and are seasoned professionals in the dance industry. They all come with many years of experience and accolades in their respective fields.
Absolutely! We welcome dancers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced. Our classes are structured to accommodate everyone's needs.
For most classes, dancers should wear fitted athletic or dancewear (leggings and a fitted top work great), and hair should be pulled back securely. Specific footwear depends on the style—ballet slippers for ballet, jazz shoes for jazz, bare feet or foot undeez for contemporary, sneakers for hip hop, and tap shoes for tap. We'll provide a detailed dress code and shoe list once you're registered. Recreational students have more flexibility, while competitive dancers follow stricter dress code guidelines.
It depends on your child's age, experience level, and goals! Our Baby Boogie and Peanuts programs are perfect for 2-4 year-olds just starting out. Recreational classes are ideal for dancers who want to explore movement without competition pressure. If your child is ready for more structure and performance opportunities, our Micro Mini Competitive (JK/SK), Part-Time Competitive, or Full-Time Competitive programs offer progressively higher levels of training and stage time. Not sure? Contact us—we're happy to help you find the perfect fit based on your child's interests and schedule.
You can easily register for classes on our website. Simply choose your preferred class, select a suitable time, and complete the registration process online.
Absolutely! We offer trial classes so your child can experience our studio before registering. It's a great way to see if they connect with the style, the instructor, and the energy of the class. Contact us to schedule a trial and find the best class for your dancer.
Our regular season typically runs from September through June, with showcase performances and competitions happening throughout the year. We also offer summer programming, including camps and intensives. Registration usually opens in the spring for the following season. Keep an eye on NINER NEWS for registration dates, or contact us directly to get on our mailing list so you never miss important updates!
Pre-Registration, Registration Fees & Competitive Team Placement
At The NINE Dance Academy, pre-registration and competitive team placements are carefully planned based on confirmed enrollment.
Pre-Registration & Team Placement
All pre-registration payments made to reserve a dancer's spot on a competitive team are non-refundable. Once a dancer's placement has been accepted and registration has been completed, these payments will not be refunded should the dancer choose to withdraw or discontinue participation, except where required by applicable law.
- Annual Registration Fee: $55 + HST per family
- Annual Competitive Fee: $100 + HST per dancer
Both are one-time annual fees, not monthly charges.
Registration & Competitive Fees
The NINE Dance Academy charges a one-time annual registration fee and a one-time annual competitive fee for dancers enrolled in competitive programs.
Both fees are non-refundable, including in circumstances where a dancer voluntarily withdraws, quits, or discontinues participation at any point during the dance season, except where required by applicable law.
These fees are separate from monthly tuition and are not eligible for prorated refunds or credits due to voluntary withdrawal.
Withdrawal from Competitive Programs
Families may withdraw their dancer from the competitive program before the end of the dance season in June by submitting a written withdrawal request to office@theninedance.com at least seven (7) calendar days before the 1st of the month in which the withdrawal is to take effect.
Monthly tuition already processed is non-refundable, and any registration, competitive, or pre-registration fees previously paid will not be refunded due to voluntary withdrawal, except where required by applicable law.
